By responding in an affirming, respectful way to me, you are a voice giving me hope. It's just not wise to assume that of men as a class.

Years of experience while travelling, teaching, and going into various activist/social justice scenarios has revealed the sad truth that there are so few men who are not opportunistic/predatory. Even the ones who claim to be 'feminist' are too often only posing as such in order to manipulate the women into feeling he is trustworthy.

I include my own brother in that designation, for I've witnessed him abandoning any principle if it doesn't cohere with his need of the moment, picking up his muslim identity when it brings benefits... and then turning to the white liberal order when that brings benefits.

Anyway, I hope you are doing what nurtures you, whether that is watching the dawn break, going for a walk, or... having a sauna : )
