About ten of us took a plane ou of London and arrived at airport in Israel. None of us had a criminal record, including me. I was th only one held back by the airport/miitary authorities. I was interrogated by two teams alternately, from 3.00pm until they released me after 11.00pm. I was the person of colour, with a Muslim sounding name. So that is my personal experience, back in 2004.

I am currently reading the Israeli -born professor Ariella Axoulay's book, 'Potential History' and her experiences including how neither parent ever talked in their mother tongue at home, she explains was an indication of their anxiety concerning being accepted.

And then thirdly, I have read here on Medium and elsewhere, and seen documentaries and statistics which show the profound inequalities between Ashkenazi European origin Jews and those from African and Arabic regions.

So I really have to say again that you are pushing a fairy-tale version of Israel and even a cursory look at Israeli society disproves it.
